paul-beerPresident, Paul Beer

Paul is the Business Banking Manager for the Mat-Su Valley with Wells Fargo for just over 10 years, with over 25 years banking experience.  An University of Anchorage Alaska graduate.  Paul enjoys getting involved in the local area through volunteer work with various non-profit organizations like United Way, Rotary, and Valley Performing Arts to help build and strengthen the local community.  When not working or volunteering the Alaskan born enjoys basketball, softball, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, camping, and spending quality time with his wife and 5 kids.

Charles has worked in non-profit management, primarily in the areas of community and economic development.  His work experience includes serving as Director of Tribal Operations for the Valdez Native Tribe, Economic Development Specialist for Tanana Chiefs Conference, and Executive Director of the Mat-Su Resource Conservation and Development Council. He has served as  a board member at MASCOT since 2001. Charles has also worked as a private consultant to non-profits and private corporations, and has served on Planning and Zoning Commissions for both the City of Valdez and Fairbanks North Star Borough. Charles is currently employed as the President/CEO of Alaska Village Initiatives, and has served in this capacity since 2006. Charles lives in Wasilla with his wife Claudia and their three children: Josie, Charles Russell and Rafael.

steve-mahoney-1Treasurer/Secretary, Steve Mahoney

Steve is a practicing attorney and certified public accountant. His areas of practice currently focus on federal and state income tax and property tax controversy resolution, non-profit law, and entity formation/governance, limited liability companies, partnerships, and corporations. Steve acts as General Counsel for a number of Alaska nonprofit corporations and sits of the Board of the Anchorage Community Land Trust having previously served in similar roles in the Great Alaska Scout Council, Smile for Kids, and Glacier Creek Management. He has also been affiliated with Foraker Group since its inception in 2000. His consultancy with Foraker centers on the business, governance, and tax related operating issues facing non-profits.

Archie is the Public Works Director for the City of Wasilla. He has been a Valley resident since 1981. Mr.Giddings is a UAA Graduate in Civil Engineering. He is licensed to practice civil engineering in the State of Alaska and his principal area of experience is in water and wastewater engineering. He was a former heavy equipment operator and board member with MASCOT since 2003.



Board jim-beck-2016-webMember, Jim Beck

Jim Beck has been involved in nonprofit human services and state government in Alaska since 1985, whether as direct service and then leadership staff, grant administrator or board member. Mr. Beck served numerous terms on the board of directors of the State Independent Living Council (SILC) in the 1990s and 2000s, including several stints as chair. Mr. Beck is a founding board member of the Palmer Museum of History and Art and also served on the board of the National Council on Independent Living. Mr. Beck has held numerous positions in the nonprofit sector, including providing direct service to program clients, conducting training and technical assistance activities, starting up and managing programs, and holding leadership positions from program manager to executive director – a position he most recently held as Access Alaska’s CEO for 13 years, from 2002 to 2016. Mr. Beck is an accomplished trainer, public speaker, and provider of technical assistance. Currently Mr. Beck works for the Mat-Su Health Foundation as a program officer.

Jamie is a Senior Transportation Planner and the Public Involvement Coordinator for Anchorage’s Metropolitan Planning Organization, AMATS. Jamie joined AMATS in August 2014; prior to that she spent five years with the Public Transportation Department as the Mobility Coordinator. Jamie works on regional and multimodal transportation initiatives including: Vision Zero, Human Service Transportation Coordination, Link Ak, Smart Cities, and Community Engagement. When Jamie’s not working (or traveling for work) you’ll most likely find her spoiling on her dogs, stand-up paddle boarding, biking, camping, and fishing.

Margaret has lived in Alaska since 1990. She moved to the Valley In 2000. She has been a Realtor with Prudential Jack White Vista Real Estate for 10+ years and has served on several boards state wide including Red Cross state and local boards, State Chamber of Commerce, Past President x2 of Big Lake Chamber, Past President of Big Lake Community Council and current council member, Secretary in 2008 for the Valley board of Realtors, Chair of Finance Committee at Our lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She is also a member of the Big Lake Library Advocacy Board and Big Lake Trails Board. On her free time she loves to cook and wanted to have her own cafe one day. She is a top producer in real estate for the past 15 years and is a member of NAR. She is married with one daughter and 3 4-legged children. She also loves to fish, travel and collect antiques. She is very passionate about giving back to her community.

bouchard-normBoard Member, Norman Bouchard

Norman has been a Social Studies Teacher in the Mat-Su for 22 years, all at Houston High school. As the Athletic Director Ihe began the Football program at Houston High in 1997 and was the Defensive Coordinator with the program until 2004.He took over as the Head Coach and served in that position thru 2011. He has been the Athletic Director for 2 different stints at Houston, was the Head Girls Basketball Coach from 1994-2002 and served as the Boys Basketball Assistant, off and on, sense 2004. He was the Head Track coach from 1994-2007 and 2015. Norman joined the Colony Knights Football program in 2013 and has served the roll of Defensive Line Coach. He has 4 Children (Sophie, Lindsie, Taegge and Champ) and 4 Grandchildren (Maris, Jeter, Rivera and Weston). He is looking forward to another great year with the Knights!!!
